Preeti Shenoy, when I read the name of the author of the book, I was sure that I have to pick this book since I have heard a lot of praise of her previous books. Thus, I had started reading the book as soon I got my hands on this and May I say so, it has not disappointed me! Shall also read other books as well.


Now, coming to the book which I had read,

A place called Home is a book written by best selling author β€œPreeti Shenoy.” The book is written around the main protagonist β€œAlka” and her journey. The story has other two characters as well Subbu and Krish.


Alka is a daughter of a maid who works at Mrs. Shetty’s luxurious house. Seems (the maid) who works hard to give her daughter a life which she deserves. Alka got married with a coffee grower and she feels that she is living her best life. But, is it really true, what will happen when her past which she has guarded from everyone? How she will handle all these demons.


The author has jotted down the nuances of relationships, marriages, home. The book also talks about the caste system, classism, privileges and its impact on the individual in the society.


The book flows smoothly with crisp narration throughout which will grip the attention of the reader till the last flip of the page.


Blurb and the cover of the page would caught your attention from the beginning itself.
